Green Technology
Hydrogen for river cruise industry
At The NERA Company, we are committed to advancing sustainable solutions in the maritime industry, with a focus on hydrogen. Hydrogen fuel cells offer a zero-emission alternative to traditional diesel engines, significantly reducing the environmental footprint of river cruises.
Through NERA-H2, a new consortium formed by The NERA Company, we are leading the way in integrating hydrogen propulsion systems into river cruise vessels. Our designs focus on optimizing energy efficiency and ensuring a seamless integration with existing maritime infrastructure. With this consortium, we aim to set new standards in the maritime industry.
This project is subsidized by the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management.

E-Power Pack
E-Power Packs are advanced energy systems designed to provide clean, efficient and reliable power for vessels from residual heat. They serve as an alternative or a supplement to the traditional diesel engines and batteries. The integration of E-Power Packs into maritime vessels represents a significant advancement in sustainable shipping. These systems enable vessels to operate on electric power, reducing their reliance on fossil fuels and decreasing emission.
zepp.X150
The zepp.X150 fuel cell system offers a unique level of integration at
industry-leading power density.
The system has been designed with a modular power system in mind. Multiple modules can be connected to the application’s electric DC power bus to supply higher power capacities up to (multi-)megawatt applications. Alternative packaging concepts for rooftop or machine room applications are available.

Operational Profiling
Operational profiling is the process of analyzing a vessel's operating conditions to optimize its performancy, efficiency and sustainability. Every vessel operates under unique circumstances; route patterns, engine loads, speed variations and weather influences. These conditions all affect fuel consumption, emission and maintenance needs. By studying these conditions , shipowners and operators can make data driven decisions to enhance efficiency, reduce costs and lower environmental impact.
Another aspect of operational profiling is predictive maintenance. By closely monitoring the key indicators, operators can identify potential issues before they escalate into costly failures. This approach supports sustainability goals, aligning operational efficiency with environmental responsibility.
